A page view is a hit generated when a user views a page. Each time a page is loaded or reloaded, a page view hit is generated and sent to the Google Analytics servers.

Page views are an important metric in Google Analytics. By analyzing page views, you how popular your website is and how much traffic it receives. You can also use page views to compare the performance of different pages on your site and identify popular or unpopular pages.

Page views are often used with other metrics, such as unique page views and average time on page, to understand user behavior on a website or web application. For example, you may analyze the number of unique page views and the average time on page for a particular page to understand how engaging that page is for users.
